Michael spent 14 years inside the Electrical Regulator determining compliance outcomes across the electrical industry, including utility-scale renewable energy facilities, transmission-connected assets, battery energy storage systems, data centres, complex generation infrastructure and general electrical installations. This included leading audits, investigations and enforcement action, and sitting on regulatory enforcement committees that influenced policy direction, compliance thresholds and enforcement priorities.
As part of the regulator’s senior leadership group, Michael also contributed to developing the regulator’s forward strategy, shaping how the organisation responds to emerging technologies, systemic risk and the accelerating pace of the energy transition.
